Being such a big city, Richmond offers a myriad of dining options. Here are our 4 favorites:
1. The Tobacco Company
The Tobacco Company, located in downtown Richmond, sits in an old tobacco warehouse dating back to 1866. The warehouse was renovated and turned into a restaurant in 1977 that still embodied the Victorian Era when tobacco was Richmond’s major industry. The main focus point is a three story atrium with an exposed antique elevator which carries guests from the first floor cocktail lounge to the two dining floors. In addition to the cocktail lounge and two dining floors, The Tobacco Company also boasts a top notch nightclub so if you are looking for a fun night out, you never even have to leave the building. This is great on cold winter nights. While their menu offers everything from fried yellow tomatoes to chicken and seafood, they offer the best steaks in town.
If you are looking for something a little different, you should definitely give Heritage a try. Located on West Main Street, they take classic southern comfort foods and put their own elegant spin on it. Their food is wonderful but they are highly known for their impressive craft cocktails.
3. Maple & Pine
Maple & Pine is located in the Lobby of the Quirk Hotel. It has a bright and airy atmosphere and their menu is for sure an extension of that. It emphasizes artisanal ingredients that are locally sourced. Maple & Pine makes a great lunch spot.
4. The Daily Kitchen and Bar
The Daily Kitchen and Bar is another great lunch spot. They focus on healthy eating, using mostly organic, all natural, and sustainable ingredients. They have a menu full of vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, and paleo options. While a menu like this sounds expensive, their prices are actually quite fair.
